Scientifically inclined children and teenagers are going to love having this at home. Looking at things and seeing them 600 times larger than real life can be a real adventure. This is not an electronic microscope, not in the standard meaning of the word. Instead, it’s an optical microscope, based on lenses and light, that comes with a built-in digital camera. You can either view it as-is, or you can attach it to your computer and capture digital images and movies. This light-weight microscope is easy to handle and is quite affordable. In fact, if you head over to Amazon right now, you will see that they don’t even mention the price, as it’s down from the official $75 price tag. Check it out here

It’s amazing what a long way portable DVD players have gone through. From cumbersome and rather heavy machines, they now have the elegance of a compact ipod ,only with a larger screen and easier to operate interface. While portable DVD players make a popular solution for keeping the kids entertained during long-range travel, the Sony DVP-FX820 is actually designed with grown-ups in mind. This sleek black player is something you feel good showing off on a bus or a plane (and it’s available at cool blue, cherry red, snow white and even bubble gum pink too). In terms of durabitliy though, it can very well take on children though! The sharp hi-res 8? swivel and flip monitor is just perfect for watching anything you fancy in your hotel room. It has a remote control even, so you can place it wherever you like and lie down for a nice relaxed viewing of your favorite movies. Wanna share? no problem - 2 headphone jacks are available for shared viewing at excellent sound quality. It’s great for playing music too, and can easily process MP3 files and music CD’s. Use it in your car for long hours of music or movies, with the car adapter allowing for constant hours of view. Not that the battery won’t last for hours. For six hours, to be exact - enough for quite a bunch of movies on a long train ride! No wonder this model is a bestseller. It’s great looks and performance, along with the Sony brand name for quality assurance make sure it’s one of the most popular portable DVD players out there. Check out the low price on Amazon - you’ll be surprised!

We all know that iPod’s are popular, but which is the most popular of all iPods? Here is the hottest choice this month - absolutely the best choice if you’re looking for a cool gift:
It does not have to be in black, but comes in seven other colors as well. Whatever color you choose, the design is as sleek and sexy as you can expect from the latest iPod. It has features galore too. The famous Genius Playlist lets you organize your music with ease and tune in to your favorite tunes. It is a dynamic gadget, responsive to movement and you can turn it around as part of its navigation system - the files on the screen will respond to your movement. Of course, it’s not just music. The iPod can play movies, tv shows and even games (with special games that make use of its unique movement sensors). It can also store thousands of your images and display them, horizontally or vertically with amazing clarity. Available in 8 GB and 16 GB models, this electronic miracle lets you move around with thousands of pictures, hours of music and movies and everything you need for your media needs on the road. It has a green angle too, with even more progressive environmental aspects such as arsenic-free glass, and components that are free of PVC, mercury and full of recyclable aluminum. Here's an interesting question: What if one device could help you navigate anywhere in the U.S. and Canada, while offering travel tips, storing your favorite tunes and photos, providing translation assistance, and more? That device is here, and it's not much bigger than a deck of cards. The Garmin nüvi 350 is set to revolutionize what we expect from a GPS navigation device, or from any device for that matter. Meeting the new age of electronic sophistication head on, this little device takes a page from its more expensive brothers in gizmology and gives a tremendous amount of adaptability in one small item. It contains a potentially massive load of information and entertainment. A powerful speaker on the back can give spoken directions to anywhere in the US and Canada. The iPod feature is every bit as entertaining. It is USB ready for downloading and for updating from a home computer as well. All in all, this is a stunning little piece of technology. This cute little sucker fits right into a pants pocket, all ready to rock and roll with high-quality recording of live events. If anyone remembers how we used to record our childrens' soccer or softball games, their dance recitals and the likes, this thing will blow your mind. Small and easily adapted to downloading onto the computer, it records up to 60 minutes at a time of high resolution filmage. It weighs exactly 3.3 ounces, amazingly enough. But it also has fabulous sound quality as well. These sorts of things really do blow me away. Obviously, I include myself in that group of folks who trundled around large camcorders with poor resolution but who were delighted to have one. I have libraries of my daughters games and events. The amazing clarity of this one takes things to an entirely different level, however. Plus, it's idiot-proof!! Now that's the sort of protection a guy like me needs!
